Located at the site of the old Gentleman Jim's, Groggers has only been open for four weeks and is already a hot spot for locals, said manager Chris LaPlante.

"People were dying for a local spot to grab a burger and a beer and we're that spot," LaPlante laughs.

Located on Route 44 (the Dutchess Turnpike), the restaurant also offers a whole array of grog of course, including 28 beers on tap ranging from yummy IPA's to seasonal brands and good old domestic brands.

"We try to keep the beer selection changed up so people always have something new to try," he said.

The restaurant also features a full bar and offers such fun drinks as a "grogopolitan," a play on a cosmopolitan: "We try to keep it fun around here," he laughs.

Owned by Anthony Ricciardi, who also owns Gallagher’s on Top Sail Island in North Carolina, the new restaurant is the first of what they hope will be at least three more in the area.

A look at the menu shows a full line-up of burgers, salads, sandwiches, wings and steaks prepared by Executive Chef Adam Royster, former owner/chef of Queen City Bistro.

"We have something for everyone in a fun, laid-back atmosphere," LaPlante said.
